History

The house was built for John William Roberts circa. 1906 and was a family residence for the Roberts family until its purchase by The Town of Woody Point in 2004 as part of an overall waterfront development project. The house underwent restoration to its original character and furnished with either furnishings left with the house or donations and loans from local residents. The house opened as a visitor centre and commenced visitor tours in 2005.

The house is open for 7 weeks in the summer and is staffed by summer students, with hours of operation depending on the number of students approved through student programs.

Access conditions and requirements

A fee is collected for visits. $3 Adults, $2 seniors and students, and children under 12 are allowed in free of charge.
