Custodial History: The archival material remained under the care of the Transcona Historical Museum, as part of the museums' administrative records and collections until creation of a distinct Archival Department within the Transcona Historical Museum in 1997.
Scope and content
Scope and Content: Fonds consists of correspondence, Minutes, financial records, artifact records, acquisition records, conservation records, Board Member lists, personnel files, volunteer files and lists, museum grants, admission statistics, insurance records, memberships, newsletters, advertising material (pamphlets, invitations, programs), drawings, blueprints, manuals, policies, scrapbooks, and guest books. Finding aids
After consulting the Fonds Descriptions, researchers may wish to view the holdings of textual records and graphic materials (other than photographs - q.v. below) itemized in the Textual Records File List binder. This finding aid also is organized by series and sub series title. This finding aid lists the title of each file in the series beside its temporary THM institutional record catalogue number. The latter number is important because it is required by THMA staff in order to retrieve a file for inspection by researchers. Consult the File List binder and/or THMA staff for further details.
