Fonds consists of materials created or collected by Dr. John F. Godfrey while he was a professor at Dalhousie University and President and Vice-Chancellor at the University of King’s College in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Material consists of correspondence, course material, lecture notes, videocassettes, shooting scripts and research for History 100 videos, manuscripts, notes, printed material of local history and locations, and meeting minutes and memos from committees, the Faculty of Arts and Science, and the History Department at Dalhousie University.

Fonds consists of records pertaining primarily to the professional activities of Elisabeth Mann Borgese, focusing on major organizations and projects with which she was affiliated from the beginning of her North American career in the 1940s. The fonds includes artist files, slides, administrative files, publicity files (including press releases), correspondence, publications, financial documents, contracts, minutes of board of directors meetings, photographs, fundraising files and membership lists, audio and videocassettes, CDs, DVDs, books, and programmes, catalogues, posters, reviews, guest books, and miscellaneous files regarding exhibitions and events. Some digital records in this collection have been migrated from CD's.

Fonds primarily consists of documentation related to publicity, personnel, equity, and the Canada Council for the Arts as well as scripts, production-based records, administrative files, correspondence, PACT files, contracts, annual meeting notes, ROADies records, financial statements and information, board meeting notes, brochures, audio tapes, photographs, and production posters.

Fonds contains comprehensive records documenting the functions and activities of the Women in Media Foundation between 1990 and 2007. Materials include administrative records, correspondence, financial records and video works created by young women who participated in the Foundation's summer camps and other programs. Fonds also contains communications and marketing material and records documenting the various girls camps operated by the Foundation across Canada.
