Biographical history
The Whistler Skiers Chapel Society was responsible for the maintenance and management of the first non-denominational skiers church in Canada. The first church was opended in 1966 at the base of the mountain. The Garibaldi Lift Company provided land for the chapel. In 1989, the society organized a fund-raising campaign to build a larger church. The society's goal was reached in 1992 when the Whistler Skiers Chapel and Community Centre opened.
