The fonds consists of images, originally dating 1944-1945, of the Seaforth Highlands of Canada in Amsterdam in the Netherlands; the flag in the images was recovered from a German tank.

Immediate source of acquisition
Maurice Doll of the Provincial Museum of Alberta, on behalf of William D. Hughs, allowed the records to be copied by the Provincial Archives of Alberta in 1988. The originals were returned to Maurice Doll.
