Biographical history
Né à Québec le 25 mars 1830, William Darling Campbell était le fils de Archibald Campbell, notaire (CN301, S49), et d'Agnès George. Il fut admis à la profession de notaire le 2 février 1852 et exerça à Québec. Il fut élu conseiller du quartier Saint-Pierre à Québec en 1866. Il mourut le 3 mars 1885 à Québec Sources "William-Darling Campbell", Le Bulletin des recherches historiques, vol. XXXIX, no 2 (février 1933), p. 128

William Darling Campbell a pratiqué le notariat à Québec du 10 février 1852 au 17 juillet 1885 Archives architecturales : parmi ces plans, plusieurs montrent des coupes de navires. Le greffe contient aussi un très grand plan montrant, en plan et en élévation, les maisons du bord du fleuve dans le domaine de Spencer Wood à Sillery. Archives cartographiques : le greffe contient des plans de toutes les dimensions dont quelques-uns ont trait aux quais sur la côte de Lévis. On trouve aussi des plans de cantons, de lots et d'aménagement de moulins
