Biographical history

524933 William Fraser was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, 23 July 1897 and was a farmer in Kootenay Bay, British Columbia prior to enlisting with the Army Medical Corps Training Depot 11 August 1916. He was with the 9th Field Ambulance, 3rd Canadian Division at Vimy Ridge where he served as a stretcher bearer for the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, 9-10 April 1917.

Custodial history

The books were in the possession of George Cook, nephew of William Fraser.

Scope and content

The fonds contains 2 books on the History of the Canadian Forces, 1914-1915 and 1 book on the Canadian Forces Medical Services, 1914-1919.
