This fonds consists of the records (1940-1950) of Frank "Huck" O'Neill of Prince Edward Island, a prisoner of war in Hong Kong and Japan during World War II. Frank served as entertainment officer at the camps and the fonds includes several records related to his activities in this role (ca. 1941-1945), including scripts, programs, sports schedules, game and tournament information, and lists of officers in the camp. The fonds also includes a detailed personal account of Frank's experience at the Shumshuipo POW camp in Hong Kong. Correspondence with Frank's wife and his mother while he was a prisoner, as well as post-war correspondence with the Department of National Defense, Knights of Columbus, the federal Minister of Finance, fellow POW survivors, and correspondence regarding dependant allowance plans, rental administration, and his brothers Charles and J. R. O'Neill are also included. The fonds also includes a few items relating to Frank's post-war involvement in community theatre.
